Exciting weekend

Last Saturday Mia had her first play date with a friend's 2 year-old German Pointer, Goliath. The dogs seemed to have fun and at one point had a barking contest. I think Goliath won... his bark was louder. And it's the first time that I saw Mia with her tongue sticking out. I guess we never tired her out enough before. When Mia got home, she was so tired she just laid there on the floor, eating a carrot, while Willow rubbed himself on her. So funny!! Here are some pictures of the play date.

On Sunday, we had our first puppy class with Mia at Petsmart. We didn't get the message the day before about what to bring with us, so we didn't have soft treats and two of her favourite toys, so that was a little embarrassing. The class had 10 puppies, and we were sitting next to a woman who's puppy seemed pretty excited and wanted to go play with Mia, which was exciting her and was making her want to go play with the other puppy. We weren't allowed to let them touch noses for this first class. It was difficult keeping them apart. All of the other puppies seemed calmer and quiet, so I felt bad that Mia was so excited... She wasn't listening to us very much. Hopefully next class will go better.

After the class, while waiting for Santa to come back to "her" seat for a picture, Mia met a 4 month-old Border Collie puppy. They played together in the store, wrestling, for a half hour. They seemed to really like each other. Too bad we didn't get the owner's number for another play date.
